My Ambition
My ambition was to be to become a national badminton player. The reason is because I have great interest in badminton. Even though I am not a Badminton player in school, this is because when I was in secondary one, this sport was not available. Therefore, I cannot join the Badminton team in school. The second reason is that I hope to do something for Singapore and I hope to represent my country when I am really good in it after years of training. The third reason is because I want to try out the life-style of an athlete.
Background
This sport is certainly quieter than Bowling and less violent than football. A player can really sweat it out. Badminton is lots of fun easy to pick up. Players with moderate skills can jump right in and enjoy not only the social aspects of team play but also the fantastic health benefits of a great cardiovascular workout. Badminton is played with a shuttlecock, also called a shuttle or bird, which is hit back and forth across a net by players using rackets. The job of a Badminton player is to represent the country and participate in competitions like the Asian Game, Olympic and many more competitions.
Requirements
Strategy is also very important in a game of badminton. Players need to employ a wide variety of strokes in the right situations. Finally, and perhaps the most important in any game of skill and strategy, discover your opponents’ weaknesses and play to it as much as possible. Be prepared to move in any direction at all times. Hit every possible shot overhead. Move the shuttlecock around the court to keep your opponents running and have a purpose with each shot.
Job Duty
The job of a badminton player is to take part in the competitions. It can be better if the badminton players were to win a medal for their own country. They train so that they can perform better. Overall, it means bringing glory to their respective countries.Contribution to SocietyThey contribute to their society by representing their country and it will be best if they are able to win a medal. They are also the representatives for badminton in their country. If they perform well, they also bring glory to their country.
